BP used tons of chemical dispersants at the well head to save fines on the amount of oil split. This has caused the oil to spread as a fine particulate material throughout the Gulf of Mexico. No one knows the long term effects of those chemicals used. BP has turned the Gulf of Mexico into a giant chemistry lab experiment which the world must now pay the penalty for.
There are no words to express my fears and feelings on this.
